Details about the route, the legs of the race, and the FOODS!! Racers, please get familiar with this information. We're trying to save paper at check-in.
The Rules
- The race will start promptly at 8:00am at Blu Seafood. Team check-in opens at 6:45am and closes at 7:30am. Starting at 7:00am, the Man V Food film crew will be interviewing teams and The Bicycle Chain will be doing bike check-ups for racers. All 4 team members should bring their valid picture IDs to check-in together. Everyone must sign the waiver and be marked with the team number to start. If a team member is under 18, they need a parent to sign the waiver at the start line. Bring the helmet and bike to be checked.
- All teams may provide at most one support vehicle. This vehicle will be marked with the team number. All other vehicles must remain at the starting line parking lot. Reckless driving will result in disqualification. Support vehicles should follow the directions for support vehicles, for the safety of all racers.
- Racers must complete the food challenge before moving on to the next physical challenge.
- Follow all volunteer instructions.
- The awards ceremony will be at 10:45am at the finish line. To get everyone through the race by then, time limits will be enforced.
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Vomiting is strictly discouraged. By time penalties.

Strawberry shortcake in a cup: *Local strawberries and local whipped cream layered between an vanilla bean cupcake made with *local eggs and dairy. [vegetarian option] Double Chocolate Cupcake: Rich chocolate cupcake topped with dark chocolate frosting [vegan option] *local produce sources to be finalized. The Route
RACER 1 -- eats Diablo del Mar at Blu, then runs to Central Campus Pool, performs aquatic activity, and tags Racer 2.
RACER 2 -- bikes from Central Campus Pool to Four Square. Eats Bull City BLT, then continutes biking to Nosh and tags Racer 3.
RACER 3 -- eats Tomato Triple Threat at Nosh, then runs to Dain's and tags Racer 4.
RACER 4 -- eats The Portable Defibrillator at Dain's, then runs to Daisy Cakes, where all team members are waiting.
TEAM -- each team member eats a one of Sunny-Side Up Cupcake, Strawberry Shortcake, or Double Chocolate Cupcake [which cupcake is determined by dietary preferences indicated during registration], then entire team runs to the Durham Farmers' Market and crosses the finish line holding hands.
